How to play

Drag through touching letters to spell words. You cannot spell a wrong word; tiles that do not fit simply will not join. Keep dragging into the next word without lifting your finger: word two counts double, word three triple. Pause on a tile for a moment to lock the word you have got so far. Lift on a finished word to bank the chain and keep the multiplier. Lift with loose letters hanging and every word counts once. Your trail cannot cross itself, tiles keep falling, and if a column reaches the top the run ends.

Frequently asked

How do duels work? Play a 90 second round, then send the challenge code to a friend by any messaging app. When they paste it into Chain Letter they get your exact board, your score climbing beside theirs, and every attack you sent landing on their stack. No account or internet connection is required; the whole duel fits inside the code.

What are the purple letters? Junk tiles sent by your rival’s attacks. They are awkward letters like J, Q, X and Z, but they are worth a lot of points if you can spell through them.

What is the keyword? A hidden five letter word. Any five letter word you bank is scored against it with green and gold marks. Spell the keyword itself to detonate the bottom of the board for a jackpot.

Why did my multiplier disappear? You lifted your finger while a word was unfinished. The words you completed still count, but each only once.

Does pausing hide the board? Yes. The tiles blur while paused so a paused game cannot be used to plan your next move.

Does the game collect my data? No. See the privacy policy; there is nothing to collect.
